A passion for music, a heart for little learners
Hi, I'm Kate! I'm a music educator based in Westerville, Ohio, with a degree in Music from Otterbein University. I started out as a performer — but the moment I discovered how much joy comes from singing with little kids, I never looked back.
For the past 15 years I've been teaching preschool music in private and public settings, both here in the US and in Australia. What I care about most isn't teaching children to be perfect musicians — it's helping them fall in love with music in a way that stays with them for life. I truly believe that learning to sing and make music builds confidence, self-expression, and a sense of joy that goes far beyond the classroom.
I am a trained singer and performer, and I bring that energy to every single class. My hope is to be an excellent model for each child — showing them how to use their own voice with creativity, confidence, and expression.
I can't wait to make music with your little one!

A playful music class for ages 3–4 (babies and younger siblings welcome!)
Musical Storytime is a short, sweet, and magical class designed for your littlest music lovers! In just 15–20 minutes, we bring stories to life using our felt board, fill the room with singing and dancing, and get little hands exploring simple instruments.
This class is perfect for children aged 3–4, but we love when the whole family comes along — babies and younger siblings are always welcome. It's a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joy of music in a warm, low-key setting that fits even the shortest attention spans!
A musical head start for ages 5–6 · 30 minute classes
Does your child love music but isn't quite ready for formal lessons? First Notes is the perfect place to start! This class is designed for children who have a love of music and the curiosity to explore it more deeply — without the pressure of traditional instrument lessons.
We'll work on general musicianship, rhythm, and ear training, while also building the finger strength and dexterity that little hands need before tackling piano or any other instrument. We incorporate piano into our classes as a tool for exploring music — but this class is so much more than piano. It's about falling in love with music from the inside out, and building a foundation that will support whatever musical path your child chooses next.
